Hidden Safari Project
Hidden Safari Project Summary of Project: This project is designed to trick the eye and get students thinking about color. To start off the lesson, the teacher talked about color and color theory. Students were then able to see slides and talk about the animals that they saw, which helps them observe. After the presentation over color, students then came up to the table and would pick out a drawing of a safari animal like a giraffe, elephant, gorilla, and more. They would then get a blank sheet of paper and a blue colored pencil. Students will then softly draw an outline of their animal in blue. After this, they will then color over their animal with warm colors such as red, orange, and yellow. They will not fully color as that ruins the effect, but they will draw different patterns such as swirl, squiggles, and dots. Now that their hidden safari is hidden, they will want to see it!
